The trailer for Kartik Aaryan's highly anticipated film, Chandu Champion, has finally been released. Directed by Kabir Khan, this biographical drama will see Kartik stepping into the shoes of Murlikant Petkar, India's first Paralympic gold medalist. In the film, Kartik portrays Chandu, a character who is a boxer, wrestler, and soldier, showcasing a multifaceted and inspiring journey of perseverance and determination. Prior to the trailer's release, the film's posters had already generated significant buzz and heightened expectations among fans and critics alike. The trailer itself delves into the life of Chandu, a man with dreams of becoming a champion. To achieve his aspirations and represent India in the Olympics, he joins the Army. During his service, Chandu is gravely injured, taking nine bullets in combat and subsequently falling into a coma for two years. Despite these severe setbacks, the trailer celebrates Chandu's indomitable spirit and his unwavering resolve to rise again and achieve greatness.
Director Kabir Khan shared a poignant message about the film and Kartik's dedication to the role. In a previous social media post featuring a poster of Chandu Champion, Khan praised Kartik’s transformative journey. He recounted how Kartik initially had 39 percent body fat due to a prior role. Khan informed Kartik that to play an international-level multi-disciplinary sportsperson, he would need to undergo a significant physical transformation.
